Turkish Warships

The Turkish fleet was not a "mighty" armada as was the case with its Allied counterpart. Despite all the shortcomings, however, Turkish warships played a very important role in the war. Stories of legandary ships such as Hamidiye, Yavuz, Midilli, Mesudiye, Sultanhisar and Nusrat are never to be forgotten. The following is a comprehensive list of the vessels that have particpated the Ottoman war efforts on the seas. Click on the icon next to the name of a warship to get the technical specifications and to learn the story of that particular vessel. (Source for technical details: "Ottoman Steam Navy 1828-1923" by B.Langensiepen and A.Güleryüz. With thanks to Emir Yener for his assistance with the classification of the ships).
