The single seater Deperdussin and the double seater Deperdussin-D models produced by the French firm of the same name are the first aircrafts of the Turkish Air Force. In 1912, the government had decided to purchase aircrafts due to consistent pressure applied by the High Command, but since there was no budgetary allocation, the subject was taken to The Association of National Assistance by Grand Vizier Mahmut Ževket Paža. With the money raised through donations, three aircrafts of which 2 were single seaters and the third a double seater were purchased. The Depperdussins were out of service in 1914.
